Adonai’s Love – Long Suffering
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some people think of slowness; on the contrary, He is patient with you; for it is not His purpose that anyone should be destroyed, but that everyone should turn from his sins.”
2 Peter 3:9
Long suffering. What a strange phrase this is. What comes to your mind, when you hear this? To me, this speaks of incredible patience and this is a major element of His love. But, what does this mean for us? When one is long-suffering, this person is long tempered or filled with self-restraint. Thus, a long-suffering person has a vast amount of patience, is slow to show anger and does not display a desire for immediate retaliation. Are you glad that the love, our Abba has for us, is long-suffering?
Abba B’Shamayim, Heavenly Father, what a blessing it is for us that Your love is long-suffering. Thank You for the patience and forbearing you bring into Your relationship with each of us. B’Shem Adonai Yeshua, Mashichainu, our Messiah, Amen.
