OMER DAY 34

Adonai’s Love – Modest

“But Adonai said to Sh’mu’el, ‘Don’t pay attention to how he looks or how tall he is, because I have rejected him. Adonai doesn’t see the way humans see — humans look at the outward appearance, but Adonai looks at the heart’.”

1 Samuel 16:7

How is it possible to think of the word modest and envision Adonai? Does this word even apply to our Abba? As we read in 1 Samuel 16:7, Adonai sees our hearts, the true seat of modesty. When we adorn ourselves, it is to please the world around us, not Adonai. Sometimes we adorn ourselves to elevate our status or prestige within our communities, not before Adonai. However, our Abba is holy, set-apart from the universe and He asks us to holy also, set apart from the world around us. Are we ready for that?

Abba B’Shamayim, Heavenly Father, You have asked, no, commanded us to be modest in our appearance, whether at home or within our communities. We do not need to convince You of our love, we are asked just to display our love for You and one of those ways is to be modest. Thank You for Your guidance. B’Shem Adonai Yeshua, Mashichainu, our Messiah, Amen.
