Our Response to Adonai’s Love – Being Harmonious
“Oh, how good, how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in harmony. It is like fragrant oil on the head that runs down over the beard, over the beard of Aharon, and flows down on the collar of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon that settles on the mountains of Tziyon. For it was there that Adonai ordained the blessing of everlasting life.”
Psalm 133
I urge all of us to take a step back and focus on our state of being, when we are both in harmony with our fellows and when we are clashing with them. I can guarantee our state of mind is calmer and less virulent, when we are in agreeable situations, than when we are facing disagreements. This is not to say we should always be in harmony; that is not realistic. As human beings, we all have goals, desires and wants that will come into conflict with others, from time-to-time. However, here is where constructive compromise clicks in. Compromise, as we all know, may not be perfection and usually is not; however, it may allow us to reach a state of satisfaction, if the compromise is based on wise and thoughtful discussion. Until we no longer have our egos, this may be the best approach to maintaining harmony.
Abba B’Shamayim, Heavenly Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, grant us harmony between brothers and sisters. Remove selfishness from our hearts and make us peacemakers. Forgive us for all our divisive actions. We humbly ask you to continue to teach us discernment so that we may better promote peace and reconciliation – harmony. B’Shem Adonai Yeshua, Mashichainu, our Messiah, Amen.
