Our Response to Adonai’s Love – Morally Good
“Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents not to give in to the desires of your old nature, which keep warring against you; but to live such good lives among the pagans that even though they now speak against you as evil-doers, they will, as a result of seeing your good actions, give glory to God on the Day of his coming.”
1 Peter 2:11,12
Did you realize that we believers are ‘aliens and temporary residents’, in this world? This is not our home! Our home is with our Abba, who awaits each and every one of us into His heavenly Kingdom. So, while we are here, as strangers in a familiar land, we must strive to be morally good. What does this mean?
Adonai has given many of us the ability to determine the consequences of our actions, the ability to make value judgments and the ability to choose our courses of action. With these three gifts in mind, it is up to us to use them appropriately, by following His code of conduct and His moral code, as found in Scripture, both the Hebrew and the Apostolic Scriptures. When we choose the moral high ground, we are responding appropriately to His love, freely given to us.
Abba B’Shamayim, Heavenly Father, thank you for the ability You have given us to make the right choices and live moral lives, in response to the love you show us. B’Shem Adonai Yeshua, Mashichainu, our Messiah, Amen.
