COUNTING THE OMER
From the day after the day of rest — that is, from the day you bring the sheaf for waving — you are to count seven full weeks, until the day after the seventh week; you are to count fifty days; and then you are to present a new grain offering to Adonai.
Leviticus 23:15,16
As we have read in Torah, God’s life instructions for His children, Israel had been slaves in Egypt for about 220 years. Adonai took Israel out of Egypt, led by His Presence and Moshe Avinu, Moshe our Father. On the 50th day of travels through the wilderness, Israel committed themselves to Adonai’s Covenant, as we read in Exodus 19:8, and received Torah. Each day on their journey added a transformational moment so that by the time they reached Sinai, they were ready to receive His instructions.
Our 50-day journey provides us an opportunity for transformation. As we know, from reading Romans 13:14, Ephesians 4:24 and Colossians 3:5-14, the focus of our transformation is to become more like Adonai Yeshua, the Lord Jesus. We are to put on the clothes of righteousness. I ask you to join me, as we take this 50-day journey of transformation.
May you be fully and richly blessed by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
