THE LAND GOD GAVE AVRAHAM

            That day Adonai made a covenant with Avram: “I have given this land to your descendants — from the Vadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River —  the territory of the Keni, the K’nizi, the Kadmoni, the Hitti, the P’rizi, the Refa’im, the Emori, the Kena‘ani, the Girgashi and the Y’vusi.”

Genesis 15:18-21

Reading this passage, it is somewhat difficult to clearly understand the significance of Yahveh’s covenantal promise to Avraham and us, his descendants. I have attached a small map of the region, to help us comprehend its size.

First, the Vadi of Egypt, often translated as the River Nile, determines the Eastern most boundary of Israel. The Western Border may be found at the north-east corner of Syria to the south-west tip of Kuwait, where is borders Syria at the Persian Gulf. The Eastern Border of the land is formed by the Mediterranean Sea, with the Southern Border comprised as a line drawn from south of Cairo, Egypt, meeting at the Persian Gulf, at Kuwait & Syria.

Land of Israel

As may be seen, the Land of Israel, as given to Avraham and his descendants, by Yahveh, those many years ago, does not yet belong to the nation Israel. We do know the State of Israel, a man-made political region, has been blessed by Yahveh and is flourishing, while the nation states around it are floundering. However, we do know the Land will be transferred to His people, when Adonai Yeshua, the Lord Jesus, returns and begins His 1,000 year reign. How do we know this? I ask you to read Zechariah 14, wherein we are given many of the details of the very beginning of His reign. Also, Ezekiel 39, especially verses 25 to 29, describes a situation which resembles what is depicted in Zechariah 14.

Thus, Yahveh’s promises to Avraham will come to fruition and, at that time, all the world will bow to Yahveh/Adonai Yeshua. I urge all of us to pray for all the innocent ones, who will be killed or wounded, prior to the return of Adonai Yeshua. Remember God’s timing is not man’s timing. This may not occur in our life-time but it will occur. Have faith, be strong.

CONSIDER: Are you struggling with the concepts presented in Scripture, especially those focusing on the return of Adonai Yeshua, the Lord Jesus? Do you not believe the prophecies of Scripture are valid and have credibility?

ACT: I suggest you speak to a pastor or rabbi and discuss the many, many prophecies which are detailed in the Hebrew Scriptures, a.k.a. the Old Testament. You could do your own research, searching out the thousands of sites which explain the many prophecies which have come to pass and explore those which are yet to be fulfilled.

PRAY: Beloved Abba. I pray for all those who do not believe, as yet, in the Truth of Your Word, as found in the complete body of Scripture (Genesis to Revelation). I pray that the scales be removed from their eyes, so they may see and believe in the magnitude of Your Word. And for all Your children, Israelite and Goyim, I pray for strength and resolve, as we wait for the return of our Beloved Messiah, Adonai Yeshua. In Your Beloved Name I pray.

May the God of Avraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you richly.
